Our Services

Test
"To put to a procedure, reaction or reagent to identify or characterize a substance constituent or combination thereof."
What We Do
Having held accreditation for over 20 years, laboratory testing is one of our team’s longest running and most successful service offering. We offer small-scale product specification testing and large-scale system performance testing services to standardized methods. We also offer program development and testing services for non-standardized products. With two ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories and over 25 years of experience under our belt, our Test Reports are accepted by code evaluation bodies and authorities that have jurisdiction throughout the world.
Top Requests
- Test a product to its specific standardized/codified specification.
- Develop a test program that will be acceptable to a specific Code entity.
- Develop a test program to document performance of a product under predetermined conditions.
Accreditation
Audited Facilities Under ISO/IEC 17025
About Our Accreditation
The international accreditation standard for laboratory testing services is ISO/IEC 17025. NEMO ETC facilities are audited and accredited by the following entities:
By virtue of these accreditations, our laboratories are listed and Approved with the following organizations.
In addition, our laboratories are participants in the UL Third-Party Test Data Program (TPTDP), whereby test data generated at our laboratories is acceptable for the establishment of UL Certification Listings.
About IAS
Our primary accreditation is through the International Accreditation Service (IAS); a non-profit, public-benefit corporation that help organizations demonstrate compliance and competence to their customers, regulators and the public. IAS accredits a wide range of companies and organizations involved in conformity assessment activities such as testing, inspection, certification, fabrication, code compliance and enforcement.
NEMO ETC utilizes IAS as its primary accreditation body due, in part, to IAS being a signatory to the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation and the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA).
This allows Code bodies, government agencies and designers-of-record throughout the world to accept NEMO ETC as an ISO/IEC accredited inspection agency and laboratory; and in turn, accept NEMO ETC reports. For example:
- The Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) publishes Code evaluation reports for compliance with the National Building Code of Canada. CCMC requires testing performed by “laboratories recognized by CCMC for that particular test method”. The CCMC website indicates CCMC will recognize “laboratories accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC)”. Since both IAS and SCC are signatories to the ILAC MRA, SCC recognizes IAS accredited laboratories and, therefore, recognizes NEMO ETC’s laboratories. By extension, CCMC must recognize NEMO ETC testing for use in their CCMC reports.
NEMO ETC laboratories are ISO/IEC accredited to conduct a wide variety of standardized tests from various publishers, including but not limited to:
- AAMA: American Architectural Manufacturers Association
- ANSI: American National Standards Institute
- ASTM: American Society of Testing and Materials
- CGSB: Canadian General Standards Board
- CSA: Canadian Standards Association
- FBC HVHZ TAS: Testing Application Standards (Miami-Dade Test Protocols)
- FM: FM Approvals, LLC
- SBCCI: Southern Building Code Congress International
- UBC: Uniform Building Code
- UL: Underwriters Laboratories

FAQ's
-
Yes. Provided we have the equipment and expertise to conduct your needed test(s), and if accreditation is required for your intended audience, we can add the test(s) to our scope either through desk review or on-site audit by our primary accreditation body, IAS. If accreditation is not required for your intended audience, we will advise you whether we have the equipment and expertise to meet your need.
-
While this is not required, many intended audiences for your report require the laboratory document where the test materials were produced. If the test material is not randomly sampled or you do not supply the declaration, we will state “contact named client” within our report in regards to the production location.
-
Our clients are notified of any/all failures as soon as possible after the failure is recorded. We review the data with you to determine if a re-test is prudent, and then take directive from you as to whether to continue the project, put the project on hold, or cancel the project.
-
No. The laboratory testing would need to be combined with inspection/QA services to facilitate product Certification. Visit www.nemocert.com to learn more about product certification services.
